Mrs Carmee Lim
PAGi was set up in November 1999 and serves as a support network for parents to share their ideas and concerns on guiding their children to use the Internet positively. Mrs Lim is a life-long educationist and is recognised for her efforts in educating our children. As Principal of Raffles Girls' School (1988-1999), her vision was to establish it as the best independent school for girls in Singapore. She was awarded the 'Public Administration Medal (Bronze)' in 1982 and the 'Outstanding Science Teacher Award in 1993. She was also awarded the 'Honour Role of Teachers' by the Association of Science and Technology Centre, USA, in the same year. Upon her retirement, her immense passion for education has spurred Mrs Lim to continue educating parents and children. Her vision for PAGi is to instil a culture of responsibility among everyone in order to create a safe surfing environment for our children. Mrs Lim has been invited to represent PAGi at the following seminars:
Under Mrs Lim's dynamic leadership, PAGi has grown from strength to strength. As part of PAGi's efforts to 'spread its wings' internationally, Mrs Lim is spearheading PAGi's efforts to develop third party templates for ICRA and has also embarked on the group's first step to organise Safe Surfing 2001, the world's first online safety convention. In addition to chairing PAGi, Mrs Lim is a board member of the Singapore Sports Council and chairs the Women and Sport Working Group (WSWG) - School and Junior Sport - whose mission is to actively promote and facilitate the participation of girls in physical activities and sports.
