The association dedicates itself particularly to the protection of children and young people and the fight against illegal and youth-endangering content in online media. Jugendschutz.net hat den Auftrag, illegale und jugendgefährdende Inhalte im Internet zu überprüfen und auf deren Veränderung oder Herausnahme zu dringen. Ziel ist ein vergleichbarer Jugendschutz wie in den traditionellen Medien.

La línea directa española Protégeles se creó en el año 2001 y permite a los usuarios de Internet informar, sobre cualquier página o material en Internet que consideren que pueda contener pornografía infantil, de manera confidencial y anónima. Tras su comunicado se realiza una verificación y se informa a las Fuerzas de Seguridad españolas así como a las del país donde se encuentre ubicada la página con la finalidad de retirarlas lo antes posible.

Recuerde que las imágenes de pornografía infantil se obtienen a partir del sufrimiento de miles de niños de numerosos países, y no son equiparables a otros tipos de pornografía. Informar sobre ellas es fundamental para detener a sus autores y proteger a los niños.
