Should I delete my old PICS label?

Families using tools such as Internet Explorer's Content Advisor will continue to benefit from PICS labels for some time. If you have obtained a new (RDF) label since January 2006, then you will have received a PICS version of your label along with your Link tag. You can therefore remove your old v02 PICS tag, as it is superseded by the v03 PICS tag.

Your RDF label is part of a platform for which new tools and systems are being developed actively, known as the Semantic Web. It is unlikely that any new tools will be built to read PICS labels.

If you do not have one of the new RDF labels, or if you have an RDF label that did not include a PICS tag along with the Link tag, we would encourage you to proceed to the label generator.
